In 1992, Joanne Chemin began to build her dream. With her love of crafts and an overwhelming desire to share it with others, she started slowly building a route to various seniors homes in Edmonton. With her, she brought various crafts supplies and spent time with the seniors showing them the exciting things they could make.

In 1997, Joanne heard that the owner of the neighbourhood book store was going retire thus would be closing the doors. She visited the store a couple of times through out a weeks time and found a new dream taking shape. A home base where she could provide craft supplies to all and thus find fulfilment in being in service to people.

On July 1, 1997, Joanne’s dream came true. After a great deal of heart work, 'Ewe Asked For It' opened it’s doors to the public. Since then, Joanne and 'Ewe Asked For It' have provided Edmonton and surrounding area with quality customer service and fibre products at fair prices.

In 2007, Joanne’s dreams took another turn. She decided that it was time to sell the shop that she had lovingly guided through 10 years and move on with other areas of her life.

A quote from Joanne: ‘I really loved being in service to people. I loved meeting others that have the same love of fibers and helping others see the potential of what they can create’.

On September 10, 2007, Laura Williams purchased ‘Ewe Asked For It’. After working at TELUS for 15 years, Laura felt that she needed a change in career. The purchase of ‘Ewe Asked For It’ fit the bill for her. The urge to be creative and help those around her do the same is very strong. Filled with energy, excitement and new ideas, Laura has taken over the reins and is steaming ahead with enthusiasm and passion.
